Hi, I’m Mary Gillan,

I’m a wedding photographer based in the mountains of NC. I graduated with a degree in Commercial Photography at Appalachian State University. I currently serve anywhere from Highlands NC to Boone NC, but I always am willing to explore new places!

Growing up my mom (also a photographer) was always taking photos of my brothers and me. While I hated it then, I now cherish the images she captured and the moments that are now great childhood memories and a beautiful testament of my life. This is what I want to do for you. I want to capture your loved ones, in their natural element, laughing and loving on each other.

I love people and I love photography. Capturing the real, raw moments of life and relationships are what makes me thrive. I have a weakness for the natural morning light, and I can never say no to some good strong coffee or a lot of time spent in the outdoors. So if you want to climb a mountain or get cozy in a coffee shop, let me know!

Don't be a stranger, I would love to meet you and hear your story!

Meet Charlie

This is my best bud and family dog, Charlie boy. Loves people, especially when he can jump to lick their face.. Acts more like a cat and chases all reflections and lasers. He is kinda crazy and odd but thats just why I love him so much.

My favorite Place

Panthertown Valley holds my heart. Growing up in the small mountain town, of course I would love hiking and exploring. Panthertown was the perfect place to explore and learn about the wilderness. From beautiful waterfalls to the cutest pine forest (which is the most beautiful at golden hour), it was the best thing growing up. Especially as a person who dreams of the day i'd make it to Yosemite, Yosemite of the East would have to do.

Just a little dream of mine

I have always said that one day I will live on a sailboat. Whether it is just for a few months or years, this has been a dream of mine since I was a kid and my mom taught me to sail on the little sunfish we had at the lake down the street. My grandparents had a sailboat called SilverGirl, that we would stay on for a couple weeks out of the summer and it was always my favorite time spent with them.
